Head Instructor Xiaotang Liu (Shanshan)

Coach Shanshan has over 35 years experience in wushu and is a certified China wushu judge in the Chinese Wushu Association. She was a member of the Shandong Wushu Team while also training with the Tianjin Wushu Team. After retiring from her professional wushu career to attend college, she was the team leader for the Shandong Shifan University team. In 2006, Shanshan came to the United States and established herself as an important addition to the wushu community, coaching members of the USA Adult and Junior Wushu Team and college students from UCSD, UCLA, UCI, UCR and many others in Southern California. Coach Shanshan specializes in changquan, straight sword and spear and also teaches broadsword, spear, staff, taiji, traditional weapons and hand forms. Coach Shanshan is a certified USAWKF national judge and a Team Leader/Team Coach for the 6th and 8th World Kungfu Championships.

Coach Alex Tran

Coach Alex started wushu as a freshman at the University of California, San Diego. With over 20 years experience, he has sought and trained at the top wushu training centers all over the United States with prominent wushu coaches. As a member of the contemporary and traditional USA Wushu Team, he has traveled to China, Inner Mongolia and Mexico to represent the United States. In addition to training for wushu, Alex has developed body awareness skills and combat techniques through gymnastics, wing chun, taekwondo, kendo, and muay thai. Coach Alex specializes in nanquan, nandao, nangun, guandao, shuangshoujian and bajiquan. Coach Alex is a certified IWUF international judge (Grade A) and the USA Team Coach for both the 6th and 7th World Kungfu Championships.
